Coral ‘Stone’
Background
KoralSea cultivates quality corals and reef fish for the expanding aquarium market throughout Europe. They came to Boxclever to redesign the individual ‘stones’ that the coral grows on, which were cast individually from a clay based material which could cause chemicals to leach into the tank. We designed an injection moulding, with an insert moulded stainless steel weight, inherently inert to prevent alteration of the delicate ecosystem of the tank
Coral Packaging
After the success of the stone, KoralSea asked Boxclever to design packaging for the shipping of the coral. We designed packaging that reinforced their brand, while increasing protection and reducing coral loss. The coral stones screw directly into the base of the packaging allowing coral to be prepared for shipping quickly, while the jar itself presents the coral to the buyer.
